A little community help

Recalling reading about several Meals on Wheels efforts in large cities where volunteers discovered elderly owners of companion animals were setting aside the meat from their daily hot meal for their cat or dog. They either couldn’t afford to buy pet food or were unable to leave their homes to get some. The Meals on Wheels volunteers were paying for pet food themselves in these areas.

So, in 2016, I’m going to find a Meals on Wheels volunteer and quietly ask if there are folks on his/her route with a pet that needs food, too, and add my bit to the cause.
