The summer heat wave continues, at least in our area. Abishag is actually lying in the breeze from the air conditioner, so that says it’s definitely too warm for this time of year (nearly fall!).
Please watch your cat, even if it’s an indoor companion. Look for the first signs of heat stroke: heavy panting, drooling, grooming far too enthusiastically. If any of these alarms are present, place a cool (not ice cold) damp cloth on the cat’s stomach to help cool its body.
If the signs continue, however, get your pet to the closest veterinarian. A false alarm is far better than a heat-sickened cat.
