Music soothes the savage cat

Slim, our tri-pawed cat, is generally very very busy doing things. The photo is a rare one, as it shows him being still for just a moment. (The blur is his equally-peripatetic sister, Spot.) However, there’s one thing he’ll actually melt over – Gregorian chants. He fell asleep this morning right next to my phone, which I had set to that kind of music.

So does this signify anything? Was one of his past lives that of a tonsured monk, toiling away at hand-lettered manuscripts? Or does he simply like soothing music?
