If your neighborhood indulges in a lot of fireworks, please remember to provide your outside cats with a place to hide that’s away from the noise and bursts of light if possible. Maybe you could put your outside cats in the garage, a toolshed, or even set out cardboard boxes tucked away in a quieter corner, with food and water close by.
Your indoor cats will likely either go under the bed or behind the drapes, so bear with them for an evening or two. It’s not possible to explain the Fourth of July celebrations to our furry companions, but they will understand, and appreciate, your trying to make them feel safer.
