Kitten Season

In all seriousness, and as much fun as they are to play with and to watch, there are too many kittens which aren’t finding good homes. We’ve been lucky – and have a great network of friends, because all of Mama Rosa’s kittens have found forever homes. We’ll be having Mama Rosa spayed as soon as she can be trapped/caught without being totally traumatized. Nicky is still nursing her kittens at only 5 weeks, so it’ll be a while before her surgery.

Spaying and neutering your pets isn’t cheap – far from it. But being responsible pet parents is something all of us just do. Please join us – adopt from a shelter or rescue if you can, or if you end up being fosters for a litter, plan to spay or neuter. Enjoy them as indoor pets for years to come.

And fewer kittens will be seized by hawks or owls, eaten by coyotes, killed by roaming tomcats, run over by cars, starve to death or succumb to painful diseases.

The rewards for humans are tremendous, too. Companion cats are the best!

I’ll get off my soapbox now … and go play with a kitten or two.
