Last minute cat gift

Got cats? Got tuna? Then you can quickly make some treats that Rodale Organic Press provides the recipe for – and your cats should say ‘Thank you’ for a treat that’s nutritious and free of the gunk neither humans nor felines should be eating.

They look like small cookies – and they’re simple to make, too.

Homemade Cat Treats
These healthy treats contain no corn, wheat, soy, artificial colors, or preservatives.
5 ounces canned tuna (packed in water), drained
1 cup ground oats (whirl in blender, food processor, or cut up very finely by hand)
1 egg
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon dried catnip (optional)
Combine all ingredients in the bowl of a stand mixer and mix until everything comes together. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Measure out ¼ teaspoon-sized balls and press flat onto baking sheets. Bake for 12 minutes, or until the treats are dried on top and slightly browned. Let cool completely before giving to your cat. Store in airtight container in the fridge for up to a week, or in the freezer for a month.

So with that ‘Rodale to the Rescue’ present accomplished, there’s just one more thing:
Merry Christmas!
May you be with family, friends and all your special cats! Hugs!
