Yecchhh – rats

Urg – the people in Chicago have my sympathy. Having to live around a huge population of rats would be really, really gross. Some historians figure the Black Death wiped out much of Europe because they’d destroyed so many cats in the witch hunts, the rats (with their plague-spreading fleas) just marched in and took over the inhabited areas.
