A friend of mine has a cat who tries her best to go along when he travels on business – dropping her favorite toy in any open suitcase (“There! I’m packed too!”) or simply sitting in the open carry-on, with an “I’m ready!” look on her face.
And many friends and relatives report they don’t even get out the suitcases before anxious cats are twining around their ankles, trying to ‘unpack’ what’s already been placed just so, or becoming fur-covered glue.
How do they always know? And why are they so anxious before we leave and then pretend such total indifference when we return?
Cats. The puzzle of the universe.
